1 pound = approximately 1 cubic inch.
Ashes following cremation will weigh around 3.5% of the original weight.
Because cremation is not an exact science, we advise an allowance of 1-2 lbs to ensure the best fit.
Different methods of cremation affect the amount of cremains.
● Water Cremation or otherwise referred to as Aquamation will yield more cremains than standard cremation.
● Private and Individual Cremation could also yield different cremation amounts.
Please consult your Veterinarian or Memorial Service Provider for more information regarding cremation for your loved one to best fit your needs and help determine the proper sized urn.
Materials
Our urns are handcrafted with high-quality solid hardwood. We never use engineered wood or faux wood in our products. Solid hardwood is known for its durability and longevity, is naturally insect and rot-resistant and boasts a very low environmental impact.
Because we work with natural wood, please understand each urn will show slight variation in both color and grain. Natural knots in the grain may be present. With that said, we collaborate with our partners to guarantee each urn offers beautiful color/grain.
Our partners locally source the highest grade Black Walnut wood and use high quality hardware, paints and finishes to achieve the best quality standard. We are happy to partner with a company that share the same values!

How to Fill your Urn
1. Turn urn bottom side up.
· Place on soft surface to avoid cosmetic damage.
2. Unscrew Bottom Piece.
· A #1 Phillips head screwdriver works best.
3. Remove Bottom Piece by titling the urn slightly and catching the piece in your hand.
4. Unzip the Clear Bag we provided and place it inside the urn.
5. Use your hand to open the Clear Bag to fill up the space.
6. Cut a corner of the bag containing the cremains to ease pouring.
7. With the urn standing bottom side up, carefully fill the Clear Bag with cremains.
(It may be helpful to gently shake the urn from side to side to settle the contents and continue the process.)
8. Zip the Clear Bag closed and fold down the corners flat.
9. Replace Bottom Piece and 4 screws.
10. Display your urn!
Urn Care & Handling
Each urn is finished with Nitrocellulose Top Paint Varnish. While this is a protective and beautiful varnish, it can blemish.
We recommend that you handle your urn carefully, placing it away from objects that could cause damage at contact.
Here are some additional tips:
● Walnut wood lightens over time. Keep your urn out of direct sunlight to slow down this process.
● Avoid abrasive cleaning products such as detergents or soapy water.
● Carefully dust with a dry, lint-free cloth (like a microfiber tack cloth) or wipe with a damp cloth to maintain the original condition of your urn.

Who are our urns for?
Our urns are primarily for pets, but can be for humans too!
If you would like to purchase one our our urns for a human loved one, please review our recommendations below:
Our Medium sized urn supports up to 110 cubic inches / 110 lbs before cremation.
What our customers have done is either:
1) Purchase multiple urns that they share within the family and divide the remains between.
2) Fill the urn with its capacity of remains it can support, and then spread the other remaining portion at a special location in honor of their loved one, or save them in a separate special location.
We understand that not everyone will be comfortable with the arrangement of these options. Please make the decision you feel the most peace with.
